Modern Slavery Statement

Introduction

This statement sets out Family Lives' actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its organisation and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own organisation and its supply chains.  

We recognise that we have a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking. Family Lives is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. 

We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own organisation and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.  

We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners and we expect and require that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.  

Policy Compliance

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, trustees, agency workers, volunteers, contractors, external consultants, suppliers and business partners, all of whom have a duty to comply with this and other policies designed to prevent modern slavery.

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct. We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy. Breach of this policy may lead to prosecution under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We currently operate in the United Kingdom only. As we have a small supply chain, we do not consider that Family Lives’ activities are considered to be at high risk of slavery or human trafficking.

Relevant policies

Whistleblowing policy: We encourage all our staff and volunteers to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, our organisation. Our whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for staff and volunteers to make disclosures, without fear of retaliation. Service users or suppliers who have concerns can bring a complaint using the external complaints process.

Code of conduct: Our code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing our organisation. We strive to maintain the highest standards of conduct and ethical behaviour with employees, volunteers, service users and our supply chain.

Policy Communication

This policy is published to the Family Lives intranet, which is available to all employees and volunteers. It is also available on the Family Lives website and accessible to suppliers, and business partners.

Supplier Compliance

All main and new suppliers to provide their modern slavery statement. We are committed to ensuring that its suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics.
