Westminster Parent and Carer Champion Network

The Parent and Carer Champions Network (PCCN) aims to build stronger, safer communities throughout London by establishing parent-to-parent support networks. Parent Champion volunteers are everyday parents who dedicate a few hours each week to assist families in managing the challenges of daily life. They help families discover their own strengths, build confidence, and develop skills by sharing experiences, signposting, and empowering them to access support services.

Parent Champions assist families with children aged 10 to 25* years (*young people aged 16 – 25 years with special education needs and disabilities). They support parents who are:

  • Navigating the education, criminal justice, or social care systems
  • Struggling with their teen’s behaviour
  • Preparing a child in tear 5 or 6 for secondary school, including those at risk during the secondary transition (SEND)
  • Interested in learning about keeping their children safe from harm
  • Looking to get more involved in the community

Westminster Parent Champion volunteers offer:

  • A listening ear, non-judgemental support, and empathy
  • Parenting information and signposting
  • One-to-one support, group workshops, and coffee mornings
  • Information about trips and activities for families
  • Support specifically for fathers
